Chesterfield County Fire Investigates Arson at Tanners Way Apartment Complex

In Chesterfield County, Virginia, authorities are investigating a suspected arson incident that occurred late Thursday night. Just after 10:45 p.m., Chesterfield County Fire and EMS responded to reports of a fire at an apartment complex located on Tanners Way. Upon arrival, firefighters identified smoke emanating from one of the units and discovered flames burning within a bedroom.

Crews managed to contain and extinguish the fire before 11:30 p.m., preventing further spread. Although the apartment was unoccupied at the time, the blaze caused damage to the unit and displaced a resident from an apartment below. The scene was initially deemed suspicious, and by Friday, fire officials confirmed that the fire was deliberately set.

The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Jecoby Anderson of Chesterfield, has been charged with arson of an occupied dwelling and breaking and entering with intent to commit arson. As of now, no additional details about the case or the motives have been released.
